About me

I started my freelance writing business, Scribal Productions, in 2001 as an exciting side project to my career as a writing instructor and lecturer at the University of Washington, where I earned a PhD in medieval literature. Since that time I have focused on writing travel stories and marketing-driven content for cycling publications and outdoor sports companies.

Now I enjoy crafting catalog copy and web content for a range of clients. View my resume.

I also maintain two personal blogs, a writing blog (see navigation button at top), and a blog about mountain biking. Check out my biking blog.

What I do

I create content that communicates your company vision in ways that resonate authentically with your audience. Whether I'm writing a company bio, a product catalog, a press release or an online ad, I approach every assignment with meticulous care and craft, selecting the most appropriate words, tone, voice and style to convey your message.

I write search-engine optimized content for business websites and blogs. I also manage company profiles on social media sites to share information about services, events and promotions.

Testimonials

"Angela is a detail oriented writer who is able to communicate in words the experiences that I am documenting visually as a photographer. She has a unique ability that allows the reader to 'step into' the experiences that she depicts with her writing."

Colin Meagher, Owner, In-Motion Photography

"I have worked with Angela on several occasions. Each time I was impressed with the amount of work Angela produced in a very short period of time. Angela proofed the copy on my site and helped me tell a more compelling story with the project descriptions, she also had great suggestions on usability. Her work is detailed and often times exceeded my expectations. Her prices are reasonable. I would not hesitate to recommend Angela to anyone looking for a proofreader or a copywriter."

Annya Uslontseva, Graphic Designer, AUA Design

"Angela and I were both instructors of English at the University of Washington, where we often team-taught courses in medieval English literature. She is one of the most gifted scholars I have ever known, incisively intelligent and articulate, a perfectionist in everything she does.”

Sean Taylor, Actor, Musician and Playright, Shanachie, The movement
